A short story painted in the medium of snow

What is this? Stare at it for awhile and the (perhaps deadly) answer reveals itself, etched in snow. Quinn McCloughan from Bearskin Lodge took this image last week while snowshoeing in the Boundary Waters; it's posted on Bearskin's wonderful Flickr site.

Quinn's picture offers a visually stimulating, if slightly creepy, way to begin Year 5 of blogging my first efforts.
