Last night Madison became utterly obsessed with one of the vents in our living room. We don't know if she saw a bug crawl in there or what, but she stared - unmovable and totally focused - for at least ten minutes. Given that Madison is (as A.A. Milne would put it) a bear of little brain, this level of concentration was most unusual. Not even food (the best 30 seconds of her day) gets her attention this completely.

- 6.4.10: From our garden, we're eating chard, greens, radishes, strawberries, and heaps of herbs. At the farmer's market we're buying the usual: eggs and lots of goat cheese.
