Meet this week's guest paws

The little yellow house on Green Street is having a busy autumn. More guests this week, and many more paws:

This is Belle the Wonder Dog. Belle is working with my sister-in-law, Lu the Wonder Mom, so that she can become a Helping Paws service dog. They work very hard together in training; this means Belle has skills. She can open and close the stove and the fridge. She can pick things up when you drop them and give them back to you. She can even pay with a credit card at Target. (Seriously.) But it's not all work and no play. Belle also likes to snuggle, counter surf in the kitchen, and launch herself from the floor to the bed with such precision that all fifty pounds of her lands square on your chest and wakes you out of a dead sleep. As I learned firsthand this morning.

But Belle doesn't need my endorsements of her greatness. You can see for yourself, because she's already a celebrity in the dog-blog-osphere.

that is a GORGEOUS dog. of course, i probably think this b/c she looks like Parker, who unfortunately shares none of the skills, but fortunately is not coordinated enough to launch herself onto the bed. :)
